Badly Needs a Haircut

Since we got here last September 2012, the little boys have not gotten any “real” haircut. We know that this is one of the luxuries that we gave up for migrating here. Getting a haircut is very expensive here, it costs about $10 for small children plus tax and tip, while back from where we came from, it’s just less than a dollar!!! So for the little boys, having a haircut here is indeed a luxury.

But the little boys badly need haircuts! Their hair is already long! Job’s hair gets into his ears and eyes while Kuya Bogs is complaining about it too. I know that it’s not that cold anymore, Spring is here and Summer is just a couple of months away, so they do need haircuts now. I know they have their own money (support), I guess I can use that for their haircut. We’ve seen a barber shop that also cuts little boys hair, but it’s a bit far from here, about 15 minutes walk from the apartment. I will just have to let their daddy go with me so that we can take turns in looking after the little boys while they’re having their haircut.

I can’t wait to see them in new haircuts! :-)

Afternoon Plays

The little boys have been going out in the afternoons to play. It is because the sun is still up and shining and it’s not that very cold anymore, so their daddy takes them to the school yard to play, to run and just have fun. The little boys enjoy their afternoon plays so much that when it’s time to go home, they would whine and complain and does not even want to go back to the apartment, lol! :-)

Sometimes, they find toys from the school that has been forgotten by the teachers to keep or tidy up. But most of the times, they just play at the school playground. The little boys just like it when they get to play outside. It is so opposite of what we used to do back home. All year round, we always go out to the town plaza and let the boys play. But here, it is only Spring and Summer, probably in Fall too but then they have to wear jackets to keep them warm.

Anyway, I am glad that it is warming up, the sun is out most of the time, allowing the little boys to enjoy the outdoors, soak up some much needed sunshine and just be themselves. :)

Soundproofing the Apartment, I Wish!

Along with the growth and development of the two little boys, their noise also gets louder as they bicker and fight over things. And because we live in an apartment, with neighbors that are just walls away from us, I worry that their noise, screams and shouts would bother our neighbors. Sometimes when I am angry at the little boys for doing something wrong, I cannot help but raise my voice. With that, I wish I can make our apartment soundproof so that our neighbors and those in the hallway won’t hear the little boys’ scream and shouts. I have asked the building superintendent if we can do it (even just in our room) and where to buy egg crate foam as it is best for soundproofing, even in packaging.

I remember when I was still in college, our studio walls were covered with egg crate foam for better soundproofing and sound quality. I just don’t know now if we are allowed to do that here in the apartment. I really do worry when it comes to the little boys being noisy all the time. I am afraid that our neighbors might complain and tell the superintendent and we might get evicted here. Oh my! I don’t want that happening just because my little boys are noisy. Kids will be kids, I can’t suppress their emotions and all, they just need to be kids today.

Anyway, if I get to have our own home, I will probably use egg crate foam to soundproof our house, hehehe. :-)
